FULL DESCRIPTIONWe seek an individual who can collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, provide problem-solving skills, and communicate effectively. The assembly technician will be responsible for assembling components and products in accordance with specific guidelines, Engineering Drawings, and quality standards. Attention to detail is critical, as you will be responsible for ensuring that each product meets quality policy. The assembler will work collaboratively with the production team to ensure a smooth workflow, troubleshoot assembly issues, and assist with equipment and tool maintenance. This position requires physical labor, such as but not limited to bending, lifting, and operating machinery.
 
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
  • Accurately document work performed, production quantities, torque, lubrication and any quality or process-related information required for record-keeping and quality assurance.
  • Safely handle and transport materials and components to and from workstations, ensuring they are readily available for the assembly process.
  • Operate various hand tools, power tools, and machinery to perform assembly tasks, such as cutting, drilling, soldering, and fastening.
  • Set up the digital scale for weighing crates and fixtures.
  • Communicate with shippers via phone and email, schedule / coordinate outgoing freight.
  • Communicate with teammates, engineers, and other departments to ensure workflow and a productive environment and troubleshoot any problems.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including routine equipment maintenance and ensuring a safe and hazard-free environment.
  • Obey safety protocols, wear appropriate personal protective equipment, and follow safety guidelines which prevent workplace accidents.
  • Allocate parts from a bill of material located on a Drawing.
  • Secure items on pallets or crate bases with banding, shrink wrap and/or boat wrap.
  • Lift up to 49 lbs.
  • Safe operation of forklifts and lifting equipment for lifting over 49 lbs.
 
The selected candidate will also possess:
  • High School Diploma/GED required for the position.
  • 1+ years working in a warehouse or general labor experience.
  • 3+ years working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with forklifts and other manufacturing equipment would be preferred.
  • Able to read, write, and count accurately to complete all documentation.
  • Utilize Microsoft programs for details on daily operations and project statuses. Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and SharePoint.
  • Ability to carry out tasks efficiently and independently, even without constant on-site supervision.
  • See challenges as opportunities to use problem-solving skills.
  • Knowing when to stop and when to ask questions.
  • Apply practical and logical reasoning to complete tasks successfully.
  • Ability to comprehend, retain, and implement verbal and written directives and information.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • An open-minded team player who is open to critique and motivated to grow within the job role.
  • Ability to interpret Drawings, tolerances, torque, and special call-outs.
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over a period without being distracted.
  • Excellent communication skills.
